Humans receive internal messages and signals from two different entities, their ego and their intuition. The ego is associated with material and external needs, such as status, wealth, affirmation, and security. Egoic messages are often colored by superficial or negative intentions.
On the other hand, intuitive messages are derived from the eternal soul, which is focused on existential truth, love, and growth. If an individual is not attuned to themselves, it can be difficult to distinguish between intuition and ego. A basic rule of thumb for identifying the source of a message is the accompanying feeling. Messages that result in negative emotions such as fear, anxiety, or insecurity are ego-driven, while intuitive signals make a receiver feel peaceful and inspired.
